Sorry Not Sorry...

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

Sorry I'm not sorry for...

Occasionally wearing sneakers and jeans. It's sometimes just what I need to do and it's comfortable, okay??

Not having washed my makeup brushes in a long time. I just hate having wet brushes and I'm still searching for a good brush cleaner.

Still being slightly obsessed with the Frozen soundtrack. Its too good to give it up yet!

Wanting to wear my fedora every chance I get. It gives every outfit a certain "je ne sais quoi".

Loving a really good margarita. (Or any margarita, really.)

Hating when I can hear people chew or eat. It is one of my biggest pet peeves and it makes me completely cringe!

Still laughing at Americas Funniest Home Videos. Moms being scared by their kids in gorilla masks and dads being hit the crotch with baseballs/baseball bats will always be timelessly funny.

Cutting my long hair. Instead of the "long hair, don't care" attitude, I was more along the lines of "long hair, do care a lot". The maintenance was too much and I hated waking up in the middle of the night with my hair twisted around my neck choking me.

For not being afraid of color. I know the trend now is all about neutrals but come on people, inject some color and live a little. Be bright!!

Lets Talk About...Me?

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

I know this title seems quite self-centered so I thank you for persevering through and reading this post! Today's prompt is to list five things we like about ourselves so I thought about it all day and here goes nothing, I guess!

1. I like that I am pretty decent at applying make-up.
I get compliments on how my make-up looks often and I get so excited because its nice to hear you are good at doing something you love to do. I love applying it/shopping for it/planning for it/talking about it. Sometimes, its even my favorite part of my day (usually the days I work). I love the focus that happens when I start going through my make-up routine and it just puts me right in the zone which is a great way to start my day!

2. I like that I am reliable.
While this is something that may seem boring, I really like that I am not a person that reinvents themselves everyday and people can rely on me to be me!

3. I like that I have a big secret (this blog).
The only people that know about it are my parents and John. I am not ready for my friends to know about it yet. I am not sure if I will ever be ready...its fun to have a secret!

4. I like that I am okay with quiet.
I feel like some people are not okay with silence or with being alone with themselves. However, it is time that I truly value. After days and days of working and being with friends/family, I need a few hours to myself to just relax, or go out to run errands myself. There are definitely some people I know that are not okay with being alone, and they have trouble understanding how I prefer to be alone every once and a while! Its peaceful!

5. I like that I have discovered new self confidence.
That is the real reason why I was able to start this blog. For the most part I kept to myself, but over the winter, I gained more confidence that I could share pieces of my mind and what I was interested in with the world! I find that I don't care what people think how I look or do as much as I used to. When it comes down to it, like what you like and don't care if people judge you for it!

Three Pictures

Monday, July 28, 2014

Today's prompt instructs us to post three pictures...one of anything, one I took, and one selfie! It worked out that I am going to just use the last three pictures I have posted on Instagram (one of my favorite apps!) If you like these pictures, click here for my Instagram profile!

1. Anything: Moosehead Lake, Maine
We ended up going up to the little cabin on the lake for the weekend, and it was such a quiet few days! It will probably be my most favorite weekend of the summer. We went kayaking in the lake, read books, watched movies and worked on a puzzle. One of the best things was that I did not get any cell phone service so I was forced to have a little technology "blackout"! It was so peaceful and I can't wait til I can go back again!

2. One I took: John waterskiing!
A few weeks ago, John and I went to his best friend's lake house and went out for a ride on the boat! John tried waterskiing for the first time and I took a ton of pictures (the best ones were of him dramatically falling...see above). While it wasn't too hot in the morning, it warmed up by the afternoon and we were able to go swimming in the shallow part of the lake. I used to not be a lake person, but this summer has totally changed my perspective on them so I am slowly falling in love!

3. Selfie: John and I about to take off on an amusement park ride!

Last week, we met my Mom's family in the town over from us that has a great mini golf course and a little amusement park to celebrate my youngest brother's and my cousin's birthdays. The weather was perfect and it was nice to have my extended family all together! I obviously came in second in mini golf, rocked ski-ball in the arcade, and only screamed a little on the rides...(or a lot).

Boys are Weird

Sunday, July 27, 2014

Today's prompt is a list of questions to ask someone close to you! I chose my boyfriend John, mostly because I knew he would be around to answer the questions and he would have good (and weird) answers. Internet, meet John! I've put my comments in italics next to his answers, FYI!

 What's your hidden talent?
I am a really good landscaper (he mows a lot of lawns)

What's your favorite TV show?
Game of Thrones (We watch it together!)

Name someone you admire.
Harrison Ford (I was secretly hoping he would answer me for this question, but I guess the man who played Indiana Jones AND Han Solo might deserve some more admiration that me)

Who is Canadia's current Prime Minister? (No it's not Hugh Grand from Love, Actually)
Rob Ford (JK it is something Harper) (Ugh...boys)

Do you prefer cake or pie?
Cake (Good, we would have to break up if he said pie over cake)

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Hamburgers (He already eats these every day of his life anyway)

What's your favorite memory of (or with) me?
My favorite memory of or with you is when we went to Disney World together (AW mine too! Except when I had to steal John away from the evil Cinderella)

Quote a movie, any movie, right now.
"HER NAME IS CHRISTINITH.  YOU COME TO MY HOUSE, YOU GET MY WIFE'S NAME RIGHT." (this might be from The Other Guys?)

Did the last question give you a little bit of anxiety?
No, I know all the movie quotes. (Its true, 90% of what he says is a movie quote)

Name something inappropriate you always laugh at.
I always laugh when people fart in class. (LOL)

Like the title says, boys are weird (and smelly). Lets avoid them. Just kidding...if you are reading this John, thank you for answering these questions and I love you! Thanks for reading!

Now your turn to answer some of these questions!

Throwback Thursday

Thursday, July 24, 2014

February 14th, 1993 was a special day, not just because it was Valentines Day, but because a very special person was brought into the world...ME

Heres a little refresher on what was going on in 1993:
-The average gallon of gas was $1.19 and the average movie ticket was $4.14.
-Bill Clinton was president.
-Beanie Babies were also born this year!
-There was record snowfall across the US (I was born in a snowstorm too...Maybe thats why I am always so cold??)
-Popular movies this year included Mrs Doubtfire, Jurassic Park, and Sleepless in Seattle.
- Popular music artists included Aerosmith, R.E.M., Nirvana, Madonna, and Snoop Doggy Dogg (before he was just Snoop Dogg)

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for...young Meghan pictures!
Holiday photo!

I was Sandy from Grease this year! (And many other years too..)

Just liked this one!

Currently...

Wednesday, July 23, 2014

So I am back on track after yesterday's skip day on the blog, and I am ready to write my "currently" list, which is today's prompt!

1. Reading: I am currently reading The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold. I started it a few weeks ago and honestly, I'm continuing reading it because I want to know how it ends but I dont actually like it. I find the main character to be extremely unrelatable and the story kind of grosses me out. The book is by the same author who wrote The Lovely Bones, and I didn't care for that much either! Let me know if you have read either of these books, and what you thought!

2. Writing: This blog??? Nothing else really but I don't want to be writing anything else for now!

 3. Listening: I know this he is already so popular and everybody loves him, but up until "Sing", I had no real interest in Ed Sheeran... I know, I know I am so behind on what is cool! But I hit every radio station during my commute hoping that it will be on!

4. Thinking: Like any young adult, I am thinking about what I am going to do this weekend! With my fingers crossed, I am either headed to Boston or up to John's lake house! If I end up at home for the weekend, it wouldn't be the worst either! Maybe go to the beach one day, and a waterfront bar in Portland one night?
But, I kind of want a mini road trip!

5. Smelling: I am not huge on perfumes or things that are extremely scent-y...so I will just go with my powder fresh deodorant!

6. Wishing: I am wishing that everyone is happy with how things are right now. Comment and tell me you're happy if you are!

7. Hoping: Since I have 2.5 days off, I am hoping that they are a blast because I am really trying to make the most of this summer!

8. Wearing: Since I am home, I am obviously wearing yoga pants...

9. Wanting: A monogrammed quarter zip, endless makeup products, new shoes, the list could go on!
Always has to wreck everything...

 10. Loving: My family, friends and John, like always! Duh!

11. Needing: To get one of my shifts switched at work so that I can celebrate one of my best friend's from high school's 21st birthday!

I had to include this, even though it has no relevance to this post, because A. Halloweentown and B. just read the quote again.

My Favorite GIFs (Kardashian Edition)

Monday, July 21, 2014

Today's prompt is to describe our day but using GIFs... and since I worked today, I am just going to share my older post about my work day in GIFs! Click here to check it out. Now you all should know by now that I love GIFs and secretly I am always saving ones to my phone to use when the perfect opportunity arises in a conversation (is that dorky..?)! Most of them are the epitome of my guilty pleasure....Kardashian quotes! I thought I would post some of my favorites of Kim, Kourtney, and Khole (my favorite Kardashian sister, duh).
I make that face at least five times a day

Khole coming in clutch AGAIN

This wouldn't be a Kardashian post without Kim crying

And can't forget about Kourtney

Of course not!

Who we really watch the show for...

Feel free to save these to your phone for future conversational use...I swear all the cool kids do it.
